Christianity? No: Biblical God? Yes

Mention “Bible”, and we assume “christianity”. I mean, it’s programmed into us from childhood, christianity IS the Bible, right?

 Wrong!

Let’s assume that there is a group of christians that actually does represent “God’s truth”.  Which one? There are so many variations now, we have an estimated 38,000 versions of christianity alone, not counting other ideas of God.

Let me state my position: I DO believe in the God described by the Bible. I DON’T believe in the God proclaimed by christianity!

Okay, so what’s the difference?  A simple word: choice.

CAN you correctly choose a christian religion that truly represents the Bible without confusion? If so, why so many versions?

Well, that would prove that the Bible can’t right, wouldn’t it? NO!

The reason is quite simple: both Jesus and Paul predicted that there WOULD be a confusion of religions all claiming to represent God in the name of Christ!

Think not? Matthew 24:4 “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many”.

Okay, so you’ve got this figured out, right? he meant any body except him, didn’t he?   Well, suppose you DO decide to follow nobody except Jesus the original, brand name. Exactly who would you choose as representative?

Think about it. You’re looking for truth. Assume that your “eternal salvation” is dependent on the right choice. Will it matter? Are all of them “certified”? By whom?

Here is the problem with truth, whether you’re talking about christianity, or the Bible, or any aspect of truth. The harder you try to define it and pin it down, the more it escapes your definition.

That’s why we have an estimated 38,000 versions of Christianity!

But we’ve got to choose something, don’t we?  Why? If we can’t correctly define truth, why would we just choose whatever looks right?

This is where the apostle Paul’s statements come in. Paul tells us in Romans 8:7 that the carnal(natural, fleshy) mind is enmity against God and cannot be subject to God.  What does this mean?

1.No one can claim authority as God’s representative, because we have no way of proving that he or she actually IS God’s representative!

2.Any attempt to do so, over time, will splinter and speciate into thousands of different interpretations of God, just as we see today!

Can you prove me wrong? By what standard?

If Jesus himself warned us against those who would deceive us, and if our natural reasoning mind is enmity against God and cannot be subject to God, what do we choose as truth?

Why not look at the answer of Jesus himself? Matthew 24:23:

“Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there, believe it not“.

You say, ‘Oh, he meant nobody except him”.  One problem: He’s not here. He may be dead, he may be in heaven, and there are some who say he never existed. But what if he DID exist, and what if he told us the truth? What would that truth be?

38,000 versions of christianity, all telling us we must join something, give our hearts to God, sacrifice, etc., but no matter how hard we try, no matter how deeply we believe, other versions pop up, splinters from our own beliefs,  people who simply cannot agree.

Who is right? There is simply no way of knowing, and therefore we can only make only logically correct choice, just as Jesus said: follow no man!

You cannot organize in God’s name, and you cannot organize in TRUTH. I write “truth” in capitals because of a theorem developed back in the 1930s by Kurt Godel. In layman’s terms, it says basically that in any consistent axiomatic formulation of number theory, there exists undecidable propositions.

In other words, if you use an axiomatic statement, and if you proceed from that statement to discover truth using the formal rules of an axiomatic system, you will end up with an infinity of undecidable propositions. You can’t get to “truth” from “here”, using any single system of proofs, or reasoning, or mathematics!

You say, “Oh, he’s only talking about math”. Then show me any formal system more powerful than mathematics that will lead you to truth in one system. You can’t do it!

Therefore, Jesus told us the truth in Matthew 24:23, and Paul told us the truth in Romans 8:7!

Jesus himself strengthened this position in Matthew 10:34-38:

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I cam not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

“And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household”.

You say, “Oh, he just meant those who didn’t believe in him”.

Look around you. 38,000 versions of christianity and growing. No ability to tell which is correct, exactly as Paul said in Romans 8:7.

To prove christianity wrong, therefore, you prove the Bible correct!

The only possible logically correct choice to serve God is to follow no man!
